6  Evaluation

CRISP-DM Phase 5. Evaluate the model(s) against the business objectives — not just technical metrics — before moving to deployment.

6.1 Objectives

• Evaluate results — Assess models against business success criteria; identify approved models.
• Review process — Conduct a quality-assurance review of the work done to ensure nothing important was overlooked.
• Determine next steps — Decide whether to proceed to deployment, iterate through earlier phases, or initiate a new project.

6.2 Deliverables

• Assessment of results with respect to business success criteria
• Process review
• List of possible actions and decision
